Allendale Community Consolidated School District 17 Board of Education met March 20.

The Board of Education of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in regular session on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. The meeting was held at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. The meeting was called to order at 6:04 PM.

The following members were present:

Absent was Richard Gochenour. 

Also present was Supt./Principal Bob Bowser, Administrative Assistant Sarah Courter, and District Treasurer Debbie Hipsher.

APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA

Tia Morgan made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Wednesday, February 21, 2024; Closed Meeting held Wednesday, February 21, 2024; Financial Reports – Treasurer’s Report, Activity Fund, Imprest Fund; Gross Payrolls, and Bills Exclusive of Payroll. Upon said motion being seconded by Eric Haines, President Gary Buchanan put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

STAFF – None

ADMINISTRATION – Superintendent Bob Bowser gave updates on the following: Financial Update - 1% Sales Tax $7,946.15 payable in April for December 2023; Expenditures for the month in the Education $144,894, Building $11,717, & Transportation $4,965, Funds with the 3-Fund Total of $161,576; Facility Update - have a quote from Tri-State Fence for a fence (with 2 - 4’ gates at sidewalks) that will go around the playground - quote of $9,3878 - will be using 1% Sales Tax Money; Transportation - None; Sports - 17-19 kids from Allendale out for Track this year; Other - Allendale Fire Dept. will have their annual Easter egg hunt at the school on March 30 at 2:00 PM, we have proof of insurance on file; One more day until Spring Break, school will resume April 1, No school on Solar Eclipse day - April 8.

APPROVAL TO RELEASE CLOSED SESSION VERBATIM MINUTES

Beth Etzkorn moved to not release the closed session verbatim minutes of August 16, 2023; September 20, 2023; October 18, 2023; October 23, 2023; November 15, 2023; December 20, 2023; January 17, 2024; February 21, 2024. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

APPROVE 2024-2025 SCHOOL CALENDAR

Tia Morgan moved to adopt the 2024-2025 School Calendar as presented. Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.

APPROVE EXTENSION OF CO-OP SPORTS

Beth Etzkorn made the motion to renew the co-op with St. Mary’s School for boys and girls in all sports for the next two years. Upon said motion being seconded by Eric Haines, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.

Eric Haines moved to roll over all previously tenured teachers (Mr. Ryan Dougherty, Ms. Elizabeth Irelan, Mrs. Elizabeth Perry, Mrs. Dena Tarpley, Mr. Nicholas Waldroup, and Mrs. Brittany Weiss) for the 2024-2025 school year. Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:
