METROPOLIS – State Sen. Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) and State Rep. Patrick Windhorst (R-Metropolis) are teaming up with MCDAC (Massac County Drug Awareness Coalition) and the Metropolis Police Department to host a Prescription Drug Drop Off Day in Metropolis.

State Representative Patrick Windhorst expressed his gratitude towards the collaboration with the local authorities and organizations, stating, "Having hosted previous prescription drug drop off events, I have been encouraged by the terrific response and the dozens of pounds of drugs that we have been able to keep out of the wrong hands, to help alleviate clutter for people, and to keep our environment clean." He also acknowledged the positive working relationship with the Metropolis Police Department and the Massac County Drug Awareness Coalition.

The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 27, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Metropolis Police Department located at 1020 Broadway Street, Metropolis, IL 62960. Residents are encouraged to drop off unused, expired, or unneeded medications, patches, vitamins, and pet medicines. However, hypodermic needles and illegal drugs are not accepted. The service is provided free of charge.

State Senator Dale Fowler and State Representative Patrick Windhorst will be overseeing the event. For more information, interested individuals can contact Senator Fowler at 618-294-8951 or Rep.
