State Rep. Patrick Windhorst expressed his pride in participating in a successful free prescription drug drop-off event alongside Senator Dale Fowler, the Massac County Drug Awareness Coalition, and the Metropolis Police Department. The event took place this past Saturday in Metropolis as part of National Drug Take Back Day.
"I am always glad to join with my friend Senator Fowler and to partner with the Massac County Drug Awareness Coalition and the Metropolis Police Department as part of National Drug Take Back Day," said Rep. Windhorst. "We are able to offer this service free of charge, and folks are able to safely turn in unwanted, unused, or expired prescriptions, vitamins, and other medical items. It helps clear out shelf space and to keep unsafe chemicals out of our landfills and water supply."
The initiative aims to provide a safe and convenient method for individuals to dispose of medications responsibly, contributing to the protection of the environment and public health. Rep. Windhorst highlighted the importance of such events in promoting community well-being and sustainability.
