City of Harrisburg City Council met April 29.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Reconvene: 8:00 a.m.

The Harrisburg City Council held a special adjourned meeting on April 29, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. at City Hall located at 110 E. Locust Street, Harrisburg, IL.

Mayor John McPeek called the meeting to order. Mayor John McPeek presided over the meeting with Commissioners Raymond Gunning, Roger Angelly, Rupert Johnson and Jonathan Brown answering roll call.

Commissioner Raymond Gunning led the group in prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Treasurer Alex Jackson presented the year-end line item adjustments and discussed the need to amend the FY 23/24 budget. The city has gone over the expenditures due to the ambulance, health insurance, flood control and other various projects within the Veterans Drive TIF District.

Commissioner Roger Angelly made the motion to approve amending the budget as presented. Seconded by Commissioner Raymond Gunning. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Commissioner Roger Angelly made the motion to go into executive session to discuss personnel and collective bargaining. Seconded by Commissioner Rupert Johnson. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Adjourn: 8:06 a.m.

Reconvene: 10:10 a.m.

Commissioner Roger Angelly made the motion to return to open session. Seconded by Commissioner Raymond Gunning. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Mayor John McPeek stated there is nothing to act on regarding personnel or collective bargaining.

Commissioner Roger Angelly made the motion to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Raymond Gunning. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.
