Allendale Community Consolidated School District 17 Board of Education met June 19.

The Board of Education of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in regular session on Wednesday, June 17, 2024. The meeting was held at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. The meeting was called to order at 6:03 PM.

The following members were present:

Also present was Supt./Principal Bob Bowser, Administrative Assistant Sarah Courter, and District Treasurer Morgan Thread. Gary Buchanan entered at 6:04 PM.

APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA

Richard Gochenour made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Wednesday, April 17, 2024; Closed Meeting held Wednesday, April 17, 2024; Financial Reports – Treasurer’s Report, Activity Fund, Imprest Fund; Gross Payrolls, and Bills Exclusive of Payroll. Upon said motion being seconded by Eric Haines, President Gary Buchanan put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

ADMINISTRATION – Superintendent Bob Bowser gave updates on the following: Financial Update - 1% Sales Tax $6,792.72 payable in July for March 2024; Expenditures for the month in the Education $144,183, Building $7,017, & Transportation $8,133 with the 3-Fund Total of $159,333; Facility Update - Floors and painting very close to finished in the junior high hall an classrooms; Transportation - None; Sports - None; Other - Closing up several grants (ESSER 3, Title I, PK), the playground fence will be installed next week; the new pickleball and playground lights will start to be installed July 1-3.

Beth Etzorn moved to temporarily suspend the Allendale Community School District #17 Board of Education meeting in order to conduct an Amended Budget Hearing on the 2023-2024 School District Budget. Upon seconded by Tia Morgan, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

The meeting was opened to hear testimony and questions concerning the Amended 2023-2024 Allendale Community Consolidated School District #17 Budget. No community members were present.

Beth Etzkorn moved to close the Amended 2023-2024 Budget Hearing at 6:19 PM. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Richard Gochenour moved to adopt the 2023-2024 Amended Budget as presented. Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

APPOINTMENT OF AUTHORIZED IMRF AGENT

Ryan Andrews moved to appoint the Superintendent as the authorized IMRF agent for the 2024-2025 school year. Upon said motion being seconded by Eric Haines, the President put the question and the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.
