City of Carmi City Council met Sept. 17.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

1. Call to order by Mayor Pollard, Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.

2. Roll Call.

3. Approve September 3, 2024, Council Meeting Minutes

4. Approve August 2024 Financial Reports for the City of Carmi and Light & Water Departments.

5. Approve and authorize September 2024 vendor invoices for the City of Carmi and Light & Water Departments.

6. For council consideration, discussion and possible approval:

A) Ordinance No. 1631; An ordinance to vacate an alley.

B) Ordinance No. 1632; An ordinance regarding tampering with water meters.

C) Ordinance No. 1633; An ordinance regarding tampering with electric meters.

D) Ordinance No. 1634; An ordinance establishing customer utility deposits for the City of Carmi, IL and Revoking Ordinance No. 1002 and 1253.

E) Ordinance No. 1635; An ordinance imposing penalties for failure to timely pay municipality charges for utilities and revoking ordinance No. 1530.

F) Move November 4, 2024 Council Meeting to Monday, November 3, 2024.

G) Approval to seek bids for the Carmi Public Library for the replacement of the roof.

H) Approval of Tim Sneed to the Carmi Public Library Board as a trustee to fill the position previously held by Denton Aud. Mr. Sneed’s term is for three years, ending June 30, 2027.

I) Pay request: Moran Economic Development, LLC for $570.00 for annual TIF Joint Review Board Meeting.

7. Reports and/or updates from Mayor Pollard.

8. Reports from Standing Committees.

9. Business or comments from visitors.

10. Possible closed session to discuss property and personnel issues with no action to follow.

11. Adjournment
