Norris City Omaha Enfield Community Unit School District 3 Board of Education met Aug. 14.

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Community Unit School District No. 3 was held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the District Office. The meeting was called to order by President Joe Lane at 7:00 p.m.

Roll Call: Present- Matt McArthy, Frank Graves, Rhonda Forston, Heath Rush, Joe Lane, Kyle Hoskins, and Mike Hite. Absent- None.

Others in Attendance: Matt Vollman, Superintendent; Carla Carter, Principal; David Reavis, Principal; Brad Wehlermann, Principal; Jessica Jackson, Treasurer; Kathy Sands, The Villager's Voice.

Motion to approve Minutes for July 2024 Regular Board Meeting by Joe Lane. Second by Heath Rush. Unanimous vote. Motion Carried.

Motion to approve the Bills by Joe Lane. Second by Matt McArthy. Roll Call Vote- Joe Lane, yes; Kyle Hoskins; yes; Matt McArthy, yes; Frank Graves, yes; Rhonda Forston, yes; Heath Rush, yes; Mike Hite, yes. Motion Carried.

Superintendent Report:

Matt Vollman-

-Provided the Board with "Bond Scenarios". This is the last year on the current bond.

-Finished the annual audit today and the exit interview went well. Expecting a good report.

-Provided a schedule of the vehicles in the fleet based on age and conditions. Getting price quotes and interest rates to possibly purchase 2 buses and 1 suburban.

-Updated on the tennis court project.

-Announced a fulltime officer will be in each school building this year. He thanked the Norris City for partnering with the school district to help make this possible.

Principal Reports:

High School/Mr. Wehlermann-

-Great first day of school today.

-Approximately 200 students enrolled.

NCOE Elementary/Mr. Reavis:

-First day of school went well.

-Approximate enrollment is 410.

-Softball and Baseball first games are Thursday.

-Safety window film currently being installed on the main doors.

NCOE Elementary/Mrs. Carter:

-Elementary back to school night was last night. Students could bring in their supplies to be ready for today.

-Tomorrow is Pre-k orientation.

-Mrs. Carter was able to visit 8 classrooms today to observe.

Motion to approve the Board Policy Updates Release #115 as presented by Matt McArthy. Second by Heath Rush. First Reading of Board Policy Updates Release #115: Update: 4:70, 5:130, 5:200, 6:140. Review and Monitor: 2:70, 2:125, 2:160, 4:15, 4:80, 5:150, 5:290, 5:310. No action.
