City of McLeansboro Township Board met Sept. 10.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
On September 10
th, 2024, the regular monthly meeting of the McLeansboro Township Boardwas held at the local Township building. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor ClydusGray and there were no public comments.
Minutes of the Previous Meeting
As requested by the Supervisor, the minutes from the August 2024 meeting were readby theClerk. As no questions or corrections were made to those minutes, a motion to approvethemas written was made by Dennis Johnson and seconded by Becky Cross. Motion carried.
Old Business:
There was no old business to discuss.
New Business:
Annual Audit: A statement of the financial position of the Township, along with a certificationmade by the three-person audit committee, was presented to the Board for review. Boththestatement as well as the certification indicated there were no irregularities relating to thefinancial accounting or the functional responsibilities on the part of the Township.
After review, a motion to approve the statement, as presented, was made by Kyle Ingramandseconded by Bob Brockett. Motion carried.
Miscellaneous
Approval of Salaries: With regard to the upcoming election, Supervisor Gray stated salaries forthe next four-year term must be set by no later than the November 2024 Board meeting. Heasked the Board to give this matter some thought before being considered.
Election Caucus: A short discussion was also held regarding the party caucuses that will beheldin December of this year. The purpose of those meetings will be to nominate candidates for all seven Township positions.
Monthly Claims: Road and Bridge Fund, Building and Equipment Fund and Permanent RoadFund claims were provided for review. Motion by Becky Cross and seconded by Kyle Ingramtopay those bills. Motion carried.
Town Fund and Social Security Fund claims were also presented to the Board. Motionby BobBrockett and seconded by Becky Cross to pay those bills. That motion also carried.
As there was no further business on the monthly agenda, a motion to adjourn was madebyBecky Cross and seconded by Bob Brockett. Motion carried.
