The Illinois General Assembly is preparing for its annual Fall Veto Session, which will take place from November 12-14 and November 19-21. Traditionally, this session focuses on legislation vetoed by the Governor. However, this year there are no vetoes to address.

Despite the absence of vetoes, the session provides an opportunity for lawmakers to revisit legislative items that were left unresolved or not addressed during the spring session. If new bills are introduced or previously unpassed legislation is reconsidered, a three-fifths majority vote in both chambers will be required for immediate effect.

For those interested in reviewing legislation passed earlier this year, the Senate Republican "At a Glance" document offers a summary of key measures approved during the spring session.
