State Representative Patrick Windhorst has announced that the voting period for the Southern Illinois is Beautiful Photo Contest is now open. The annual event received numerous submissions, and selecting finalists proved to be a challenging yet rewarding task.

“It’s never easy to choose, but this year’s submissions were so good that I am confident that the finalists we have chosen will receive a large number of enthusiastic votes,” Windhorst stated. He further encouraged supporters to vote by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 26th, using his official State Facebook page where the finalist photos are displayed. "I wish all finalists the best of luck, and I sincerely thank everyone who participated in this year’s Southern Illinois is Beautiful Photo Contest."

Each photo's description, category, and submitter will appear in its caption. The photos with the most likes and loves will win. Winners will be announced at noon on Friday, November 29th. Their work will be displayed in Windhorst's Harrisburg and West Frankfort District Offices as well as his Springfield Capitol office. Winning contestants will also receive an official certificate of congratulations from the Illinois House of Representatives.
