Senator Dale Fowler continues service for Southern Illinois in new General Assembly

State Senator Dale Fowler, representing the 59th District of Southern Illinois, participated in the inaugural ceremonies of the Illinois Senate as the 104th General Assembly convened on January 8 at the State Capitol Building in Springfield. The oath of office was administered by Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Kay O’Brien to newly elected Senators.

Senator Fowler, who has been serving since 2016, expressed his dedication to his district: “It’s an amazing honor to serve the 59th District. I will continue to work hard to grow our economy and to showcase the beauty of Southern Illinois and the amazing resiliency of the good people who call it home,” he stated. He added, “With the convening of a new two-year General Assembly, we renew our commitment to serve our great state and welcome the opportunities awaiting all Illinoisans.”

The senator highlighted his ongoing legislative priorities which include bipartisan pension reform, balanced budgets, and initiatives aimed at economic growth. These efforts are intended to boost jobs and bring prosperity to communities across Southern Illinois.

The 59th Senate District encompasses all or parts of several counties including Alexander, Pulaski, Massac, Johnson, Pope, Union, Williamson, Saline, Hardin, Jackson, Franklin, White, Hamilton, and Gallatin.
