State Senator Dale Fowler is inviting the community to participate in his annual Valentines for Seniors Card Drive. The initiative aims to bring joy to senior citizens residing in long-term care facilities within the 59th District.

“Each year, thanks to the good people of Southern Illinois, my office receives thousands of beautiful Valentines, which we then deliver on their behalf to senior citizens and other residents living in long-term care facilities across the district,” Fowler said. “It’s humbling to have strong constituent support for such a worthwhile program.”

Senator Fowler encourages individuals, churches, schools, and groups to contribute by sending homemade or store-bought Valentine’s Day cards. These can be dropped off at his district office located at 2 North Vine, 6th Floor, Harrisburg, IL 62946 until February 7. A drop box is available during business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. For convenience, a small mailbox is placed outside for after-hours drop-offs.

The collected cards will be delivered by Senator Fowler and his staff to various long-term care facilities in the district. Those interested in participating or seeking further information can contact Abbey Peterson at apeterson@sgop.ilga.gov.

Last year, the Senate Republican Caucus successfully gathered and distributed 58,615 Valentines across the state through this initiative.
