Allendale Community Consolidated School District 17 Board of Education met Dec. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in regular session on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. The meeting was held at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. The meeting was called to order at 6:06 PM.

The following members were present:

Richard Gochenour

Eric Haines

Miles Marcotte

Gary Buchanan and Tia Morgan were absent. Also present were Supt./Principal Bob Bowser and Admin. Asst. Sarah Courter.

APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA

Richard Gochenour made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Wednesday, November 20, 2024; Financial Reports – Treasurer’s Report, Activity Fund, Imprest Fund; Gross Payrolls, and Bills Exclusive of Payroll. Upon said motion being seconded by Eric Haines, Vice-President Beth Etzkorn put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

ADMINISTRATION –

Superintendent Bob Bowser gave updates on the following: Financial Update - 1% Sales Tax $76,954.20 payable in January for September 2024; Expenditures for the month in the Education $154,747, Building $13,537, & Transportation $8,260 with the 3-Fund Total of $176,544; Facility Update - New Ceiling Tiles (2’x2’) will be installed in the elementary hallway and classrooms, 4 Unit Ventilators having issues and will be looked at soon by Max Air Solutions (Jason Anthis); Transportation - None; Sports - None.

Principal Lori Stevens (report read by Supt. Bowser): Christmas Circles were on the importance of kindness and all decorated cookies, Christmas Program will be Friday at 12:15 in the gym, many of the teachers/staff participated in a Secret Santa, last Monday was the Christmas Carry-in (Pulled Pork provided by the school), several community members gifted cookies/candy/donuts for the teacher’s lounge, students are taking the Star Math/Reading Tests this week, GBB and BBB have upcoming tourneys, Cheer will be competing at the WEAA Competition in Clay City, JH will be taking their 2nd quarter field trip to Vincennes to watch Moana 2 and lunch at either Fazoli's or Taco Bell (bus will park between the two and students will have their choice), Elementary’s field trip will be an in-house Polar Express Day, January 3 will be a Teachers Institute that will include ASL workshop for some employees, a Guardian Center Presentation for all employees, January 6 will be the 1st day back for students.

ADOPTION OF 2024 PAY 2025 TAX LEVY

Eris Haines made the motion to approve the 2024 Pay 2025 Tax Levy as presented and file the Certificate of Tax Levy with the County Clerks of Wabash and Lawrence Counties. Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

SUPERINTENDENT EVALUATION

It is recommended to complete the evaluation tool and return to either Miles Marcotte or Sarah Courter. Once received, the evaluation tools will be compiled by Miles and the results presented at the January board meeting.

APPROVE OPERATIONAL FUNDS RESERVE REPORT

Richard Gochenour made the motion to approve the Operational Funds Reserve Report, which shows the average to be 0.667 over the past three years. A reduction plan is not required. Upon said motion being seconded by Eric Haines, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

APPROVE CARDIAC EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN

Eric Haines made the motion to approve the Cardiac Emergency Response Plan as presented. Upon said motion being seconded by Richard Gochenour, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

EMPLOYMENT - RYNA PRETTYMAN, JUNIOR HIGH MATHEMATICS TEACHER Richard Gochenour moved to hire Rayna Prettyman as Junior High Mathematics Teacher, effective January 21, 2025. Upon said motion being seconded by Eric Haines, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Ryan Andrews made the motion to adjourn the Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Allendale Community Consolidated School District #17 Board of Education meeting at 7:24 PM. Upon said motion being seconded by Eric Haines, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.
