New Hope Consolidated Community School District #6 Board of Education met Dec. 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The New Hope Board of Education met on December 17, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. in the work room of the school.

President Jeremy Vaughan called the meeting to order at 6:02 P.M.

Roll Call: Present: Jason Simpson

Dan Devous

Ryan Green

Tom Barton

Absent: Brandon Fry

Also Present: Britany Pope, Superintendent

Jason Simpson made a motion to approve the consent agenda containing approval of November 19, 2024 regular meeting minutes, acceptance of the treasurer’s report as of November 30, 2024, approval to pay bills. Second by Ryan Green.

Voice Vote: Yea: Jason Simpson, Dan Devous, Tom Barton, Ryan Green, Jeremy Gray, Jeremy Vaughan

Nay: None Carried

Treasurer’s Report and current financial information. Bank balances as of November 30, 2024:

Fairfield National Bank Checking: $1,729,073.90

IPTIP: $1,063.93

Fairfield National Bank Money Market: $379,299.01

Fairfield National Bank CD: $520,199.99

Mrs. Pope presented the Superintendent’s Report: FOIA request regarding employee contact information. Fund balances read aloud. The PTO raffle fundraiser raised over $16,000. The top sellers have been awarded and they will be providing a school-wide lunch for the kids. Santa’s Workshop is Monday & Tuesday. Brain Games have resulted in 3rd/4th grades placed 2nd and will advance to the next level. 5th/6th grades and 7th/8th grades did not place. The benefit concert was held over the weekend. The sports boosters 7th grade tournament is this weekend & the 8th grade banners are up in the gym. Superintendent evaluation is to be completed by February. The board president will distribute the evaluation to other board members. The maintenance grant has been pushed through and we are just waiting for approval. The Health, Life, Safety survey had to be amended to replace 5 geothermal units. Kerry Loss’s retirement party is Friday with lunch at 11:00-2:00 P.M. At 2:00 P.M., we will present him with his gifts and the ABC’s of Kerry.

New Business:

1. Jason Simpson made a motion to approve tax levy. Second by Ryan Green.

 Jeremy Gray, Jeremy Vaughan, Jason Simpson

Nay: None Carried

2. Tom Barton made a motion to approve Cardiac Emergency Rescue Plan. Second by Jeremy Gray.

Voice Vote: Yea: Tom Barton, Ryan Green, Jeremy Gray,Jeremy Vaughan, Jason Simpson, Dan Devous

Nay: None Carried

Jason Simpson made a motion to enter executive session at 6:15 P.M. for student discipline. Second by Dan Devous.

Voice Vote: Yea: Tom Barton, Ryan Green, Jeremy Gray, Jeremy Vaughan, Jason Simpson, Dan Devous

Nay: None Carried

Dan Devous made a motion to return to open session at 6:41 P.M. Second by Jason Simpson.

Nay: None Carried

Dan Devous made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:43 P.M. Second by Jason Simpson.
