City of Mount Carmel City Council met Feb. 14.

Mayor Judge brought the City Council meeting to order.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mayor Judge requested a motion to approve the February 3, 2025, council meeting minutes.
Commissioner Ikemire motioned, and Commissioner Meador seconded, to approve the February 3, 2025 meeting minutes. All present voted by roll call. Commissioner Meeks is absent. Commissioners Ikemire, Meador, and Zimmerman voted aye.
VISITORS
Mayor Judge announced visitors for Christmas Uptown, the Riverview Ramble, and the Eagles TIF project.
MAYOR’S COMMENTS
Mayor Judge reported several potholes around town and asked that if you see any that need to be filled, you please call City Hall.
COMMISSIONER REPORTS:
COMMISSIONER TYSON MEADOR – STREETS, CEMETERIES AND PARKS
Commissioner Meador reported that crews have been performing general maintenance, filling potholes, and assisting with a project at the golf course.
COMMISSIONER ERIC IKEMIRE – FINANCE AND SENIOR CITIZENS
Commissioner Ikemire stated that in the last two weeks, we had $573,310.95 in receipts and $441,003.20 in expenditures. We are at about 85% of our budget and looking to be on target.
COMMISSIONER TOM MEEKS – WATER AND SEWER
Commissioner Meeks is absent.
COMMISSIONER SUSAN ZIMMERMAN – FIRE, HEALTH & SAFETY, GARBAGE, CITY HALL AND CIVIL DEFENSE
Commissioner Zimmerman reported that the fire department has had 9 calls since the last council meeting. The ambulance service demonstrated its new truck with the life arm tracking system, and the Rotary Club toured the fire department.
Commissioner Zimmerman reported that we will have a big trash pick up again the week of March 31, 2025 – April 4, 2025.
Commissioner Zimmerman said we will have another electronic recycling day on May 3, 2025.
CITY ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – RYAN TURNER
City Administrative Assistant Turner stated he and Mr. Gidcumb met with Mortan Solar and informed them that the sewer plant project has been placed on hold. They also discussed implementing a solar project into the pool program.
City Administrative Assistant Turner asked the council to set a special meeting with the Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission and Motorad. That has been set for February 18, 2025.
City Administrative Assistant Turner talked about the upcoming smoke tests that the city will be performing.
City Administrative Assistant Turner stated that the city is ready to take the mowing of the cemetery back over.
City Administrative Assistant Turner talked briefly about updating and putting in new park equipment.
City Administrative Assistant Turner requested approval of the second reading of Ordinance 2122.

BUSINESS MOTIONS
Commissioner Ikemire motioned, and Commissioner Meador seconded, to approve a $2,500.00 donation to Christmas Uptown. All present voted by roll call. Commissioner Meeks is absent. Commissioners Ikemire, Meador, and Zimmerman voted aye.
Commissioner Meador motioned, and Commissioner Ikemire seconded, to approve the purchase of two Toro mowers at a total price of $32,230.82. All present voted by roll call. Commissioner Meeks is absent. Commissioners Ikemire, Meador, and Zimmerman voted aye.
