After recent statements from Governor JB Pritzker advocating for political violence and disruption against Republicans, Illinois House Republican Floor Leader, State Representative Patrick Windhorst, has issued a formal response. Windhorst criticized the Governor’s comments, labeling them as "unacceptable and wrong.”

“Governor Pritzker’s comments calling for violence against President Trump and all Republicans are unacceptable and wrong," Windhorst stated. He suggested that if the Governor disagrees with the Republicans or President Trump's policies, he should express those differences without resorting to such extreme measures.

Windhorst also highlighted previous statements by Pritzker, including one where he allegedly suggested President Trump "should be punched in the face." Windhorst expressed concern about Pritzker's focus, citing mismanagement of state agencies, a growing budget, and high tax levels as issues being overlooked in favor of political theatrics. "The Governor’s new calls for disruption and that Republicans ‘cannot know a moment of peace’" are being perceived by Windhorst as a distraction from these pressing issues.

In his statement, Windhorst further claimed that the Governor's approach indicates a shift from political debate to theatrical tactics due to what he perceives as the Democrats' failure to maintain the political argument. "Governor Pritzker’s comments show that he knows Democrats have lost the political argument and now must engage in theatrics to distract from their failed policies," he concluded.
