City of Carmi City Council met April 8.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The Carmi City Council met Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Room of the Municipal Building, 225 East Main Street for a special council meeting.

Prior to opening the council meeting, Mayor Pollard asked Alderman Winkleman to give the invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Pollard presided with the following Aldermen present: Steve Winkleman, Mark W. Blake, Tracy Nelson, Lacey Bradshaw, Jeremy Courson, Mike Knight, Sheila Headlee and Doug Hays.

For council consideration, discussion, and possible approval

a) Resolution No. 04.08.2025; A resolution appointment of a Third-Party Administrator for Healthcare Plans. Clerk Attebury explained the recent events that transpired with our TPA, Crescent Health. On March 31, 2025, the City of Carmi received an email from the insurance broker, Jeremy Billington, which stated “As of Monday, March 24, 2025 Crescent Health Solution made the tough decision to lay off all of its employees and Crescent was transitioning to a new Third-Party Administrator (TPA)”. At that point, Clerk Attebury reached out to Mutual Medical Plans (previous TPA) who offered to take the City of Carmi back. After several discussions with Mutual Medical, Clerk Attebury recommends the City Council adopt Resolution No. 04.08.2025 which is a Resolution to authorize Mutual Medical Plans, Inc. to be the TPA for the City of Carmi Healthcare plans. Alderperson Hays made a motion to approve Resolution NO. 04.08.2025. A second was made by Alderperson Bradshaw. The motion carried on roll call by each Alderperson present answering “yes.”

At 9:05 a.m. p.m. Alderman Hays made a motion to adjourn. Motion was seconded by Alderman Blake. The motion carried on roll call by each Alderman present answering “yes.”
