The Board of Education of Wabash Community Unit School District #348, Wabash County, met in Regular Session on Monday, May 19, 2025 in the Library of Mt. Carmel Elementary School.
President McCorkle called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Secretary Theresa Hocking called the roll. In addition to the secretary, those present were Jamie McCorkle, Susan Wood, Jessica Peter, and Kyle Peach. Gregg Wilcox and Janice Alka were absent.
Also present were Superintendent Dr. Chuck Bleyer, MCJSHS Principal Amy Duckworth, MCGS Principal Brianne Foster, Peyton Farmer –MCJH Teacher, Chandler Madden –WSJD, and District
Secretary Kim Zimmer.
President McCorkle led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

A motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Wood and seconded by Hocking. A roll call vote was taken and all present voted AYE. Motion Carried. Wilcox and Alka were absent.
Superintendent’s Comments
Dr. Bleyer reported that the end of the 2024-2025 school year was going very smoothly.
Reports
MCJSHS Principal Amy Duckworth reported on this year’s awards night and graduation. Awards night duration was reduced considerably this year. Also graduation went well.
MCJHS English Teacher Peyton Farmer spoke to the board regarding her work with ELL students. She has been donating time helping these students learn English and adapting to the technology used at school. These students are making better grades as a result and are feeling more empowered with the knowledge taught to them by Ms. Farmer.

Amended 2024-2025 Budget
Dr. Bleyer noted that the Amended Budget for 2024-2025 school year would be displayed in the district office for a month.

A motion to approve the following employment recommendations was made by Peach and seconded by Wood:
