Applications are open for the Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) Program until September 30, 2025. The state-funded initiative offers financial support to local administrations for land acquisition and development projects such as parks, nature areas, and outdoor recreation sites.

The grant can cover up to 50% of project costs and up to 90% for under-resourced communities. For land acquisition, grant awards can reach $1,725,000, while development or renovation project grants are capped at $600,000. Applicants must be pre-qualified through the State of Illinois Grantee Portal.

Eligible applicants include local government organizations in Illinois that can legally use public funds for land purchase or development related to parks, recreation, or conservation. School districts do not qualify.
