Jasper Community Consolidated School District #17 Board of Education met June 19.

A public hearing of the Jasper Board of Education convened on June 19, 2025 at 5:45 for the review of the fiscal year 2025 amended budget for the Jasper Community Consolidated School District #17. The following members were present:

Present at the hearing: Justin Atwood, Jarad Blanton, Caitlin Glisson, Wesley Legg, Shawn Otey, Beth Titzer and Josh Zurliene

Absent at the hearing:

No one addressed the Board concerning the FY25 amended Budget as presented.

At the conclusion of the hearing a motion was made by Justin Atwood and seconded by Jarad Blanton adjourn the meeting at 5:55 pm. The votes were as follows:

The regular meeting of the Jasper School Board of Education was called to order by Board

President Josh Zurliene and Beth Titzer taking the minutes, on June 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. with following board members present:

Board Members Present: Justin Atwood, Jarad Blanton, Caitlin Glisson, Wesley Legg,

Shawn Otey, Beth Titzer and Josh Zurliene

Board Members Absent:

The consent agenda, which includes minutes of previous regular board meeting, executive session and destruction of closed session minutes, treasurer’s report, approval of monthly bills and payroll, were then approved on a motion by Beth Titzer and seconded by Shawn Otey. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Wes Legg and seconded by Caitlin Glisson to adopt the amended FY25 budget. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Josh Zuriene and Shawn Otey to approve commercial insurance renewal as presented. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Wes Legg and seconded by Beth Titzer to approve Press Policy March 2024, Issue 114 Updates as presented. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Josh Zurliene and seconded by Shawn Otey to employe Kellene Kinney as 2025-2025 Long-Term Music Teacher Substitute. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Caitlin Glisson and seconded by Wes Legg to approve resolution to employ long term substitute teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. The votes were as follows:

Caitlin Glisson – yes Josh Zurliene – yes

Wesley Legg- yes

A motion was made by Justin Atwood and seconded by Caitlin Glisson to approve moving into executive closed session at 6:33 pm in accordance with school board policy 2:220-E2 items #1, the appointment, employment compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District, .5 ILCS 120/2C(1), as amended by P.A. 93-0057; 5 ILCS 120/2C(1), as amended by P.A. 93-0057; #2 Collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2C (2); #9 Student disciplinary cases. 5 ILCS 120/2 (C) (9).
