Grayville Community Unit School District #1 Board of Education met Aug. 20.

REGULAR MEETING:

I. CALL TO ORDER

Stephanie Hatcher called a regular meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.

The Student Council will run games during the weekend

FFA will be in the parade

JH Teams may join together and be in the parade

Teams will run the Dunk Booth

We are currently Benchmark testing all students. We do this three times a year.

Elementary Teachers took charge and revamped RTI up the hill. Taking over Tier Two and setting expectations for teachers to meet before a child goes into Tier Three Behavior in the first week and a half went well

In the past couple years, Kendra Winter did SEL/Attendance. The ROE gave us the curriculum that she did. Morris will go into the classrooms to teach the lesson.

Back-to-School Night was a success

Mr. Fetcho: Required from ISBE, our 10-year Life, Health & Safety is up for renewal. The HVAC project at Wells is 98% done. The Maintenance Grants Awarded for SY23-24 and SY24-25 are being utilized with $30000 to spend. The funds may be used for either HVAC in the Elementary gym or insulation in the ceilings where it’s lacking at the elementary building. The solar project is moving along as predicted.

Evidence-Based Funding(EBF) was received

Public Budget Hearing will be held at 6 P.M., September 17, with the Regular Board Meeting to follow.

The Tentative Budget is on display in the High School office.

V. NEW BUSINESS

1. Motion to Approve for Safe Route to School Grant

Motion by Risley, seconded by Campbell, to apply for the Safe Route to School Grant through the City of Grayville. (This is 100% free for the school district, and the city will apply for the grant.)

4. Motion to Hire Julie Cowling as Special Education Teacher

Motion by Campbell, seconded by Risley, to hire Julie Cowling as a Special Education Teacher.

5. Motion to Approve Stipend Increase for Special Education Coordinator

Motion by Trimble, seconded by Risley, to approve a 6% Stipend Increase for the Special Education Coordinator.

6. Motion to Approve Stipend Increase for Transportation Coordinator
