Village of Smithton Committee of a Whole met Sept. 30.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Mayor Mike Smallwood called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm at Smithton Park. Trustees Jason Becherer, Charlie Rogers, Jim Elbe, Jim Mourey, Tim Hopkins, and Todd Reyling were in attendance. Supervisor Klein was also in attendance. The meeting was continued at the Village Hall.

Ballfield Lights – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the Park for the new ballfield lights that were installed for Diamonds 3 and 4.

There are some lights that need to be adjusted and Trustee Elbe said he has talked with Eric Smith to get this taken care of.

Options for turning the lights on and off on a timer were discussed. They are working with Eric Smith for some different options.

There are some tree branches that are hanging over the lights and that need to be trimmed. Supervisor Klein will use the bucket truck and get these trees trimmed.

Park Parking Lot – Supervisor Klein and Trustee Reyling will be measuring the parking lot to get some official dimensions and Reyling will sketch it to see what kind of parking we can accommodate and if we can configure it differently. We will see if we can possibly get the parking lot asphalted.

Trustee Rogers made a motion which was seconded by Trustee Elbe to adjourn. All Trustees were in favor. The motion was granted. The meeting adjourned at 7:40 pm.
