City of Mount Carmel City Council met Oct. 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Judge brought the Special City Council meeting to order.  

Present at Roll Call: Commissioners Tom Meeks, Eric Ikemire,   Tyson Meador, Susan Zimmerman 

Also Present: City Administrative Assistant Ryan Turner    

MAYOR’S COMMENTS 

Mayor Judge opened the meeting.  

CITY ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – RYAN TURNER 

City Administrative Assistant Turner reported the meeting was called today, as an LLC has  approached the city about a 40-year lease contract on the old Snap-On property. The property  would be used for solar panels. There was a payout list given to the council. The LLC would  maintain all the property and would also be responsible for all site improvements. This has been  projected as a 5-million-dollar project. Tick Tock Energy would be installing all of the solar power  systems. The city would see a return on this for the first 15 years. Discussion was had, and Mr.  Turner asked the council to consider a motion.  

CITY ATTORNEY – DEREK MCCULLOUGH 

City Attorney McCullough is absent. 

AIRPORT MANAGER – LUIS GARCIA 

Airport Manager Garica is absent. 

POLICE CHIEF – MIKE MCWILLIAMS 

Police Chief McWilliams is absent. 

FIRE CHIEF – FRANCIS SPETH 

Fire Chief Speth is absent. 

PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR – MIKE GIDCUMB 

Public Works Director Gidcumb is absent. 

WABASH COUNTY E.M.A. 

Wabash County E.M.A. is absent. 

BUSINESS MOTIONS  

Commissioner Ikemire motioned, and Commissioner Meador seconded, to allow Mayor Judge and  City Clerk Turner to proceed with a letter of intent to participate as an anchor tenant for a solar  project on the old Snap-On property. All present voted by roll call. Commissioners Meeks, Ikemire,  Meador, and Zimmerman voted aye. 

Commissioner Meeks motioned, and Commissioner Zimmerman seconded, to adjourn the meeting.  All present voted Aye by voice vote.

The meeting adjourned at 3:17 pm
