City of McLeansboro Township Board met Oct. 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The regular monthly meeting of the McLeansboro Township Board was held on October 14, 2025 at the Township building located at 105 Carpenter Street. There were no public comments. Attending the meeting, as an observer, was Wyatt McNeil, a senior at the Hamilton County Unit 10 school district..

Also, due to illness, Supervisor Clydus Gray remotely conducted this month’s meeting by phone. Minutes of the Previous Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Gray who asked for the reading of the September 2025 minutes. A motion was made by Becky Cross and seconded by Kyle Ingram to approve the minutes as written. Motion carried.

Old Business:

Real Estate Tax Receipts: The second installment of real estate taxes due as a result of of the latest tax levy has been received and deposited into the various accounts. The total amount of this installment was $130,716.75.

Annual Financial Statement: The finalized annual financial statement, prepared by Katrina Roberson and Associates, has been submitted to the Township. The preliminary draft of that final document was approved by the Board at the September meeting.

New Business:

New Computer: Due to the poor condition of the computer currently being used to maintain accounting programs as well as past records, Supervisor Gray recommended consideration be given to the purchase of a new computer. Eva Lynn Gray said she has researched the matter and, has determined a 32 GB “all-in-one” computer, along with extra storeage, can be purchased from Best Buy for $1,564.98. Dennis Johnson made a motion to purchase that computer at the proposed price. The motion was seconded by Laura Renn. Motion carried.

Miscellaneous:

- During the presentation of the Road District monthly bills, Road Commissioner Bob Drakemade the following comments:

- The truck approved at the previous meeting has been purchased and currently in use. - New tires have been purchased and installed on the backhoe and,

- He had recently attended a highly productive Road Commissioner seminar in Mt. Vernonwhere current information and procedures were discussed.

Monthly Claims:

- Road and Bridge Fund, Building and Equipment Fund and Permanent Road Fund claims were presented to the Board for review. Motion was made by Kyle Ingram and seconded by Becky Cross to pay those bills. Motion carried.

- Town Fund and Social Security Fund claims were also presented to the Board. Motion by Dennis Johnson and seconded by Laura Renn to pay those bills. Motion also carried.

With no other business to conduct, a motion to adjourn was made by Kyle Ingram and seconded by Becky Cross. Motion carried.
