State Representative Patrick Windhorst, along with Senator Dale Fowler and State Representative Paul Jacobs, visited Marion on Friday to deliver Valentines to senior citizens. The event was part of the lawmakers’ “Valentines for Seniors” drive, which collected cards from members of the public.

Windhorst expressed appreciation for community involvement in the initiative. “I want to say thank you to everyone who donated so many Valentines for this year’s Valentines for Seniors Drive. Thanks to the big heart and generosity of the good people of Southern Illinois, we were able to bring joy and love to local seniors,” Windhorst said. “I look forward to carrying on this tradition again next year. We truly enjoyed putting smiles on the faces of local seniors and we are thankful this year’s drive was such a success. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!”

In addition to delivering cards in Marion, Windhorst also visited seniors in Harrisburg, Vienna, and Metropolis.

Windhorst is a Republican who was elected in 2023 to represent Illinois’ 117th House District, succeeding Natalie Phelps Finnie.
