The Vienna City Council met Nov. 9 to hire cleaning staff.

The City Council of the City of Vienna met in regular session, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Vienna City Hall with the following members and guest:
ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS PRESENT: Jon Simmons, Mayor Alan Racey, Alderman Richard Owen, Alderman Chesley Williams, Alderman Cheryl Myrick, Alderwoman Melissa Hill, Alderwoman Aleatha Wright, City Clerk Josh Stratemeyer, City Attorney
GUESTS: None
There being a quorum, Mayor Simmons called the meeting of the Vienna City Council to order at 6:05 p.m.
Council and City Attorney discussed and compared proposed coverage of the following quotes for the city's general insurance including Gower Insurance-S87.930.00. Advantage Insurance$102,862.00, and the IL. Municipal League Risk Management Association- $125,529.00. Alderwoman Hill made a motion to accept Gower Insurance quote for $87,930.00. The motion was seconded byAldeman Racey. Motion carried. All present in favor. At 6:30 p.m. Alderwoman Myrick made a motion to go into Executive Session: Employment/dismissal of specific employees as per 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)and threatened or pending litigation as per 5ILCS 120/2(c)(11). Motion was seconded by Alderwoman Hill. Motion carried.
At 6:45 p.m. Alderman Owen made a motion to resume the regular meeting session. The motion was seconded by Alderman Evans. Motion carried.
Alderman Evans made a motion to approve the letter of engagement for audit Services between Kemper, CPA and the City of Vienna. The motion was seconded by Alderwoman Myrick. Motion carried. All present in favor.
Alderwoman Myrick made a motion for the city to hire Stacy Davis to for housekeeping of city hall and police dept. Motion was seconded by Alderwoman Hill. Motion carried. All present in favor.
As there was no further business to discuss, Alderman Owen made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion was seconded by Alderman Evans. Motion carried.
Mayor Simmons declared the meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
