Freeburg Finance Committee updates investment system

The village of Freeburg Finance Committee met Nov. 30 to update the investment system.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the committee:

The Finance Committee focuses on finance and economic development related topics, and meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday after the second board meeting of the month at Village Hall.

Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 5:45 p.m.

Chairman Ray Matchett officially called the meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 5:48 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. Those in attendance were Chairperson Roy Matchett, Trustee Denise Albers, Trustee Lisa Meehling, Trustee Mott Trout, Mayor Seth Speiser, Treasurer Bryon Vogel, Trustee Mike Blaies, Trustee Dean Pruett, Village Clerk Jerry Menord, Public Works Director John Tolon, Village Administrator Tony Funderburg, Finance Clerk Debbie Pierce and Office Manager Julie Polson.

A. REVIEW OF BOARD LISTS: T&R Electric is a company we use to buy transformers and electrical supplies. Cody is the company that repaired the SAVE Standpipe, and John bought more caulk.

B. REVIEW OF INVESTMENTS: The recent CD that was bid has not been updated in the system yet, and Treasurer Vogel confirmed it has been token core of. Our next round of renewals is in March, 2017. Bryan doesn't expect interest rates to fluctuate very much by then.

C. INCOME STATEMENT: Administrator Funderburg said there are some dreds where we budgeted funding such as the sidewalk grant and Safe Routes to School, and that money is not coming in. Tony said we need to try not to use that money since it's not going to be there.

D. BALANCE SHEET: Nothing this month.

E. TREASURER'S REPORT: Treasurer's Reports for 4/30/16; 5/31/16 and 6/30/16:

Trustee Matt Trout motioned to recommend to the full Board the Treasurer's Reports for April 30, 2016; May 31, 2016 and June 30, 2076 for approval and Trustee Lisa Meehling Seconded the motion. All voting yes, the motion carried.

F. OLD BUSINESS:

l. Approval of October 26, 2016 Minutes. Trustee Lisa Meehling motioned to Approve the October 26, 2016 minutes and Trustee Matt Trout seconded the motion. All voting yes, the motion Carried.

2. Attorney Invoices: Two months were provided for the committee's review.

3. Newsletter: Possible items for the next newsletter are crosswalk Sofety, sewer/fuel Smell,

Christmas tree recycling ond Snow removal.

4. FY2Ol 6 Audit/Controct: We will get the bid out Soon.

Administrator Funderburg advised we received notice today that the Burrows cose has ended.

G. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Employee Christmas Bonus: Tony Stated this is the annual request for the employee bonus.

Trustee Liso Meehling motioned to recommend to the full Board the Village of Freeburg full-time employees received $75.00 Christmas Bon US and part-time employees received $25.00 Christmas Bon US ond Trustee Maff Trout Seconded the motion. All voting yed, the motion CCIrried.

H. GENERAL CONCERNS: None

J. ADJOURN: Trustee Moff Trout motioned to adjourn the meeting at 6:02 p.m. and Trustee Denise Albers seconded the motion. All voting yed, the motion carried.
