The HUB Recreation Center in Marion will host scuba diving lessons 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, in the Heartland Regional Aquatics Center, according to the facility's website.
The program is open to HUB members and guests who are at least 10 years old. A professional dive leader will guide entry into the pool during the session.
Participants need to bring their own swimsuits. Equipment and air fills will be provided at the center.
The program will be conducted by Mermet Springs, a scuba-training facility between Vienna and Metropolis, according to www.mermetsprings.com. Mermet Springs also offers classes on specialty dives -- such as boat and deep diving -- and first-aid training.
Cost to participate in the scuba session is $25 per person. The HUB rec center is located at 917 W. Main St., in Marion. To RSVP, email to glen@mermetsprings.com or call 618-527-3483. For more information, go to www.thehubmarion.com.
