New Simpson Hill Community School District 32 Board met Feb. 9.
Here is the minutes as provided by the Board:
President Hoffard called the regular board meeting of February 9, 2017, to order at 6:00 PM.
Present were: Hoffard, Mize, Johnson, Bain, Ross, and Craig. Edmonds was absent. Administration present: Mr. Nighswander and Mr. Witges.
Motion by Bain seconded by Johnson to approve the minutes of 01-12-17 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Bain seconded by Johnson to approve and make public record the closed session minutes of the 01-12-17 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Bain to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $20,304., unanimous.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Enrollment/Mobility; February/March Calendar; IASB dinner at Cairo on Tuesday, March 14th; JAMP Governing Board Meeting—March 30th; Fire Marshall report.
Motion by Johnson seconded by Mize to authorize the Superintendent to seek price quotes for supplies and services for FY2018, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Craig to set the 8th grade graduation date for Monday, May 15, 2017, carried.
Motion by Bain seconded by Mize to convene to closed session at 6:40PM to discuss:
•Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2c (1) carried.
Motion by Bain seconded by Ross to reconvene to open session at 7:14PM, carried.
Motion by Bain seconded by Craig to accept the revised resignation letter of Greg Faulkner, carried.
Motion by Craig seconded by Bain to accept the Superintendent’s evaluation as presented, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Bain to employ Matt Hogan as a full-time custodian as presented starting February 24, 2017, carried.
Motion by Craig seconded by Mize to adjourn, carried.
