Vienna High School District 133 Board met February 23.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The meeting was called to order by President John Summers with the following members present: Jason Taylor, Jay Morgan, Morris Mott, David Allbritten, Ken Wiggs, Kimberly Shoemaker - absent, Superintendent Joshua Stafford. Teachers present: Cindy Sherwood.

Motion made by Morgan seconded by Allbritten to approve the minutes from January 19, 2017 Life Safety Hearing, January 19, 2017 Regular Board Mtg., and to keep previous closed session minutes closed per the semi-annual review. Roll Call: All Yes

Motion made by Taylor seconded by Mott to adopt the agenda. Roll Call: All Yes

Motion made by Morgan seconded by Taylor to approve the Financial Reports. Taylor-Yes, Morgan - Yes, Allbritten - Yes, Mott - Yes, Shoemaker - absent, Wiggs - Yes, Summers - Yes.

Motion made by Taylor seconded by Allbritten to approve the Resolution and presentation recognizing Vienna High School Staff, Illinois State Scholars, and Class of 2017 for their outstanding performance allowing for Vienna to be ranked 2" out of the 44 southern Illinois High Schools. Roll Call: All Yes

Motion made by Allbritten seconded by Wiggs to approve commons use on March 19, 2017 for Project Graduations Fundraiser. Roll Call: All Yes.

Motion made by Allbritten seconded by Morgan to approve the Resolution providing for the issue of General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2017, of the District, for the purpose of altering and reconstructing school buildings and security purposes, providing for the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to pay the principal and interest on said bonds, and authorizing the sale of said bonds to the purchaser thereof. Taylor-No, Summers - Yes, Morgan - Yes, Allbritten - Yes, Mott - Yes, Shoemaker - absent, Wiggs-No.

Motion made by Morgan seconded by Allbritten to approve the expulsion agreement of Student # 2017-1 from Vienna High School district 13-3. In the event the student complies with the terms of the Waiver of Expulsion Hearing Rights Agreement, the student will be permitted to return to the Vienna High School. Taylor-Yes, Summers-Yes, Morgan - Yes, Allbritten Yes, Mott-Yes, Shoemaker - absent, Wiggs - Yes.
