Michael Reagan, the son of former Republican President Ronald Reagan, will be the featured guest at the seventh annual Ronald Reagan Tribute Dinner in Williamson County on June 30.

“The event is meant to bring conservatives of the state together and kind of celebrate the values of the Republican party and the conservative issues that go along with that,” gala chairperson Victoria Sprehe told the Southeast Illinois News. “It is going to be different this year in that we are having an amazing keynote speaker, Michael Reagan. He is a renowned speaker, conservative leader, son of president Reagan. We are building the event around that.”

Sprehe said Reagan would be available for a meet and greet at the cocktail hour before the dinner.

“Having Michael Reagan ... as our keynote speaker is especially exciting, and the response from the entire Southern Illinois region has been amazing,” she said. “We are looking forward to a great evening full of inspiration and entertainment.”

The event will include a silent auction and 50/50 draw to raise money for the organization, although all program book proceeds will go to to the Williamson County Republican Education Scholarship Fund, Sprehe said.

She said the two most recent recipients of the scholarships will be introduced at the event.

Previous keynote speakers have included U.S. Reps. Mike Bost (R-IL), Demetra DeMonte, Lt. Gov. Evelyn Sanguinetti, Dan Proft, Joe Alexander and Joe Walsh.

The gala will be at The Pavilion in Marion. Tickets can be purchased from the Williamson County GOP website.
