The regular meeting of the City Council, City of Metropolis, Illinois was held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017, in Council Chambers of City Hall at 106 West 5th Street, Metropolis, Illinois. Upon roll call the following Alderpersons were present: Alderman Don Canada, Mike Hall, John Taylor, Chad Lewis, Chuck Short, Charles Barfield, Buford McGuire, Darryl Neill, Corporate Counsel Rick Abell, Mayor McDaniel, City Clerk Jan Adams, and concerned citizens of Metropolis.

We will seek bids to have the mobile homes removed to finish the parking lot across from the American Legion baseball fields. Lafarge Corporation is gracious enough to give the City rock needed to complete the parking lot with the rest going to the newly constructed football field. We have a sports complex that we can be proud of and need to continue to have opportunities for our youth.
