East Central Reporter Athletes in Action, Football: Sept. 24 - Sept. 30

Athletes in Action tracks players with ties to communities within the East Central Reporter coverage area as they compete at the collegiate level. The following football players will compete during the week of Sept. 24 to Sept. 30.

  • Cole Hoover - Charleston H.S.; Charleston, Illinois. Tennessee State Tigers; 6-foot-4, 230-pound redshirt / Freshman / Offensive lineman.
    Eastern Illinois Panthers vs Tennessee State Tigers. Sept. 30, 6:00 p.m.
  • Hayden Phillips - Mattoon H.S.; Mattoon, Illinois. McKendree Bearcats; 6-foot-2, 215-pound redshirt / Freshman / Defensive lineman.
    Southwest Baptist Bearcats vs McKendree Bearcats. Sept. 30, 1:00 p.m.
  • Matt McCown - Casey-Westfield H.S.; Casey, Illinois. Illinois State Redbirds; 6-foot-3, 290-pound / Senior / Defensive lineman.
    Indiana State Sycamores vs Illinois State Redbirds. Sept. 30, 6:30 p.m.
  • Nick Wilson - Charleston H.S.; Charleston, Illinois. Tennessee State Tigers; 6-foot, 190-pound redshirt / Senior / Punter.
    Eastern Illinois Panthers vs Tennessee State Tigers. Sept. 30, 6:00 p.m.
  • Reece Metcalf - Mount Carmel H.S.; Mount Carmel, Illinois. McKendree Bearcats; 6-foot-3, 205-pound / Junior / Quarterback.
