Norris City FPD responds to 20 fires in 2016

Norris City Fire Protection District responded to 25 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the SE Illinois News.

The calls in Norris City included 20 fires - 10 structure fires, five vehicle fires and four other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $826,500 in fire loss - or about $41,325 per fire.

The department also received five false calls, including one malicious call and 4 other false calls.
