Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The regular meeting of the City Council, City of Metropolis, Illinois was held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13th, 2017, in Council Chambers of City Hall at 106 West 5th Street, Metropolis, Illinois. Upon roll call the following Alderpersons were present: Alderman Chad Lewis, Don Canada, Mike Hall, Darryl Neill, Chuck Short, Charles Barfield, Buford McGuire, John Taylor, Corporate Counsel Rick Abell, Mayor McDaniel, City Clerk Jan Adams and concerned citizens of Metropolis.

Canada Present Neill Present

Hall Present Short Present

Lewis Present Taylor Present

Mayor’s Report:

Moved by Alderman Mike Hall and second by Alderman Charles Barfield that we go into Executive Session for reasons listed on the agenda;

Motion Carried: Time 2:05

Moved by Alderman Buford McGuire and second by Alderman Darryl Neill that we approve the minutes of the Executive Session and that they remain closed;

A motion was made by Chuck Short and Seconded by Buford McGuire that the grievance discussed in closed session be denied and the decision of the Mayor be affirmed;
