New Simpson Hill Community School District 32 Board met September 14.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

President Hoffard called the regular board meeting of September 14, 2017, to order at 6:10PM.

Present were: Hoffard, Craig, Mize, and Lambert. Bain and Ross were absent. Hill arrived

at 6:30PM. Administration present: Mr. Nighswander and Ms. Baxter.

Motion by Lambert seconded by Mize to approve the minutes of 08-10-17 board meeting, carried.

Motion by Lambert seconded by Mize to approve and make public record the closed session minutes

of the 08-10-17 board meeting, carried.

Motion by Craig seconded by Mize to approve the financial report as presented and payment of

the bills as listed in the amount of $25,870., carried.

Administrative Reports: Enrollment; Calendar; Athletics--regionals & schedules; IASB dinner.

Motion by Mize seconded by Hill to approve the FY18 New Simpson Hill budget as presented, carried.

Motion by Lambert seconded by Hill to authorize the Superintendent to begin work on the 2017 tax levy, carried.

Motion by Craig seconded by Lambert to convene to closed session at 7:20PM to discuss:

•Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2c (1)

•Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5ILCS 120/2(c)(2)

carried.

Motion by Mize seconded by Lambert to resume to open session at 8:00PM, carried.

Motion by Mize seconded by Lambert to accept the resignation letter of Heather Dailey as presented, carried.

Motion by Hill seconded by Lambert to employ Brian Chaney as the boys’ head basketball coach, carried.

Motion by Craig seconded by Mize to authorize the Superintendent to advertise for a bookkeeper position for the 2018-2019 school year as presented, carried.

Motion by Craig seconded by Mize to adjourn, carried.
