McLeansboro Township Board of Trustee met October 10. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

The October 10th, 2017 meeting of the Mcleansboro Township Board was called

to order by Supervisor Clydus Gray. The meeting was held at the Township

building located at 105 Carpenter Street.

There were no public comments.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

Minutes from the September meeting were read by the Clerk. There being no

corrections, deletions or additions, a motion was made by Dennis Johnson and

seconded by Kyle Ingram to approve the minutes as written. Motion carried.

Old Business

- As approved at the previous meeting, a re-conditioned computer was

purchased from Sam Wilson Computers and has been installed as a

spare unit.

- Clydus noted that the annual financial statement has been published in

the Times-Leader as required by statute. In addition, the form required

by the state will be transmitted as soon as it is completed.

New Business

- Annual Real Estate tax bills have been mailed and we can expect to begin

receiving tax receipts within the next couple of months.

- Clydus further indicated the annual tax levy is due to be filed in

December and soon thereafter, both he and the Road Commissioner will

begin working on next year’s annual budget.

- It was noted the current balance in the Social Security bank account is

$2,630.50. If tax receipt funds are not received in time, it will be

necessary to either make a line-item transfer within the budget or utilize

Personal Property Replacement Tax funds (if received) to make the

required payroll tax payments. Motion by Kyle Ingram and seconded by

Becky Cross to give the Supervisor discretion on which funds to use.

Motion carried.

Monthly Claims

- Road and Bridge Fund, Building and Equipment Fund and Permanent

Road Fund claims were presented for review. Motion by Becky Cross and

seconded by Jamie Ellis to pay those bills. Motion carried.

- Town Fund and Social Security Fund claims were also presented for

review. Motion by Kyle Ingram and seconded by Dennis Johnson to pay

those bills. Motion carried.

There being no further business to conduct, Supervisor Clydus Gray declared

the meeting adjourned.
