McLeansboro Township Board met Dec. 12.

The December 12th, 2017 meeting of the Mcleansboro Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Clydus Gray. The meeting was held at the Township building located at 105 Carpenter Street in McLeansboro, Illinois.
There were no public comments.
Minutes of the Previous Meeting
Minutes from the November meeting were read by the Clerk. There being no corrections, deletions or additions, a motion was made by Kyle Ingram and seconded by Jamie Ellis to approve the minutes as written. Motion carried.
Old Business
- Clydus indicated the second installment of real estate tax receipts, in the amount of $148,498.87 has been received and deposited into the various accounts. There should be at least one more distribution although they will, more than likely, be of a much smaller amount.
New Business
- The annual tax levy was presented and explained by Supervisor Gray.
The proposed levy for the coming year will total (for all accounts) $372,320.00. Motion by Jamie Ellis to approve the levy as prepared.
Seconded by Kyle Ingram. Motion carried.
- Supervisor Gray informed the board that under Public Act 100-554, the State of Illinois now requires all local governments, including townships, to adapt an ordinance establishing a policy to prohibit sexual harassment. Clydus asked Clerk Richard Woods to give a brief overview of the requirement who then asked for any questions or comments. As the ordinance must be passed by no later than January 15th, 2018,
Richard indicated a proposed copy of the ordinance will be presented at the January meeting for review and approval. In addition, a written policy prohibiting sexual harassment will distributed to each elected official for their review and signature.
Monthly Claims
- Road and Bridge Fund, Building and Equipment Fund and Permanent Road Fund claims were presented for review. Motion by Kyle Ingram and seconded by Jamie Ellis to pay those bills. Motion carried.
- Town Fund and Social Security Fund claims were also presented for review. Motion by Jamie Ellis and seconded by Kyle Ingram to pay those bills. Motion carried.
There being no further business to conduct, Motion to adjourn was made by Kyle Ingram and seconded by Jamie Ellis. Motion carried.
