Analysis: Harrisburg pays $5.39 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Harrisburg Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.4 percent of the $512,491 the Harrisburg Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.39 for every $1 from pension members, according to a SE Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Harrisburg contributed $432,293 to the fund, which saw a $87,602 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $80,198, or 15.6 percent, in 2016.
