Patrick Windhorst recently joined members of the Massac County Drug Awareness Coalition for a “Truth and Consequences” day event with Massac Jr. High School students.
“I was honored to participate,” Windhorst posted on his Facebook page. “The young people that went through today’s program were provided with much more than information. They were able to meet one-on-one with the dedicated men and women in our community who see the impacts of drug abuse first hand.”
Windhorst said he was inspired to have the chance to work alongside those who took the lead in organizing such a worthy and critical event.
“It’s rewarding to be able to work alongside many of those that made today’s event possible,” he added. “These kids have a bright future. Let’s do our part in making Southern Illinois the place where they can reach their full potential.”
A Metropolis Republican, Windhorst is running against Rep. Natalie Phelps Finnie (D-Elizabethtown) in November’s general election in the 118th District on a platform of fiscal responsibility and property tax reform.
The 118th District includes parts or all of Alexander, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline and Union counties.
