Patrick Windhorst pronounces the recent Jackson County Republican Family BBQ a rousing success.

“My family and I had a great time,” Windhorst, running against Rep. Natalie Phelps Finnie (D-Elizabethtown) in November’s general election in the 118th House District, recently posted on Facebook. “I enjoyed meeting several of the excellent Republican candidates from Jackson County. I appreciate the opportunity to share my vision for Southern Illinois.

In recent weeks, Windhorst has been popping up at events all over the area, spreading his message of fiscal responsibility and property tax reform. He was recently on hand for the Massac County Drug Awareness Coalition’s “Truth and Consequences” event at Massac Jr. High School.

“I was honored to participate,” Windhorst posted in an earlier Facebook message. “The young people that went through today’s program were provided with much more than information. They were able to meet one-on-one with the dedicated men and women in our community who see the impacts of drug abuse first hand.”

The 118th House District includes parts or all of Alexander, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline and Union counties.
