Republican House candidate Patrick Windhorst recently toured the Southern Illinois campus and the WSIU Public Broadcasting facilities.
“This is an incredibly efficient and powerful resource for our region,” Windhorst posted on Facebook.
Windhorst, who is running against incumbent Rep. Natalie Phelps Finnie (D-Harrisburg) for the 118th District House seat, thanked R.J. Robertson and members of Friends of the Board for his tour before also discussing the benefits of the station to the university and its educational contributions.

“Did you know that, along with educational radio and television programming, WSIU provides public school teachers and homeschoolers alike with free access to a large collection of high quality [sic] educational content through the PBS Learning Media program,” Windhorst said.
Windhorst has been campaigning since the Massac County State’s Attorney came out on top in a three-way battle for the GOP primary in March.
