Republican state House candidate Patrick Windhorst was impressed by Oliver North’s speeches during a recent tour of the area.
“Last night I had the great opportunity to meet Oliver North and hear him give an excellent speech,” Windhorst recently posted to Facebook. “Here’s how he defined servant leadership … ‘You didn’t learn to tie your shoes from a slideshow. Someone knelt down and taught you through an act of service, that’s how real leadership works.’”
Windhorst also ran into Republican candidate for state treasurer Jim Dodge, whom he described as “dedicated to being a strong voice for the taxpayers of Illinois.”
Windhorst is running against state Rep. Natalie Phelps Finnie (D-Elizabethtown) in the 118th House District in November’s general election on a platform of greater fiscal responsibility and tax reform.
The 118th House District includes parts or all of Alexander, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline and Union counties.
