Republican candidate Patrick Windhorst has been revving up his campaign for state representative for the 118 District.

“Thankful to have had this awesome team with me knocking doors in Harrisburg yesterday! The next generation of Southern Illinoisans deserve a home that offers them an opportunity to grow,” he posted on Facebook.

Windhorst previously promised that every section of the district would be involved in the political process and has been making an effort to reach out to every voter.

“It was awesome to see all of the excitement at Shawnee Worship Center’s School Supply Give Away and Community Night,” Windhorst said in another Facebook post. “Glad to have ran [sic] into Bart Loyd and Jeffrey Isbell who have worked so hard to make this event possible. Also good to see Robin Harper-Whitehead and members of the Johnson County Elks Club serving food.”

Windhorst is running against incumbent Rep. Natalie Phelps Finnie (D-Elizabethtown), and has focused on tax reform and fiscal responsibility throughout his campaign.

The 118th District includes parts or all of Alexander, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline and Union counties.
