Republican candidate Patrick Windhorst recently posted a TV ad on social media that presents the differences between him and his Democratic opponent as three choices.

“In Southern Illinois, we do things the right way,” Windhorst said in the 30-second spot. “But too many in Springfield do things Madigan’s way.”

Windhorst is running against Rep. Natalie Phelps Finnie (D-Harrisburg) for the 118th House District seat in November's general election.

She “votes with Madigan 95 percent of the time,” Windhorst said in the video. “I’ll vote with Southern Illinois 100 percent of the time.”

Finnie supports higher income taxes and Windhorst will oppose them if elected, the ad states.

“She supports the status quo,” Windhorst said. “I want to change it with term limits. I’m Patrick Windhorst, and that’s the choice.”

The 118th House District includes Alexander, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline and Union counties.
