Jasper Community Consolidated School District 17 Board met August 16.

The regular meeting of the Jasper School Board of Education was called to order by Board President Blaine Norton and Derek Demaret taking the minutes, on August 16, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. with following board members present:

Board Members Present: Blaine Norton, Eric Gruen, Rennie Cates, Lachelle Thompson, Chris Barbre & Derek Demaret

Board Members Absent: Chris Otey

The consent agenda, which includes minutes of previous regular board meeting, executive session, bills and payrolls were then approved on a motion by Chris Barbre and seconded by Rennie Cates. The votes were as follows:

Blaine Norton – yes Lachelle Thompson –yes

Chris Otey –absent Chris Barbre – yes

Eric Gruen – yes Derek Demaret – yes

Rennie Cates – yes

A motion was made by Lachelle Thompson and seconded by Chris Barbre to transfer a portion of General State Aid to Debt Service Fund. The votes were as follows:

Blaine Norton – yes Lachelle Thompson –yes

Chris Otey –absent Chris Barbre – yes

Eric Gruen – yes Derek Demaret – yes

Rennie Cates – yes

A motion was made by Rennie Cates and seconded by Eric Gruen to approve the resolution to permanently transfer interest on Operating Funds to Debt Service Fund. The votes were as follows:

Chris Otey –absent Chris Barbre – yes

Eric Gruen – yes Derek Demaret – yes

Rennie Cates – yes

A motion was made by Eric Gruen and seconded by Chris Barbre to approve FY 19 tentative budget and place on display for 30 days. The votes were as follows:

Chris Otey –absent Chris Barbre – yes

Eric Gruen – yes Derek Demaret – yes

Rennie Cates – yes

A motion was made by Lachelle Thompson and seconded by Chris Barbre to hire Regina Bashore as a part-time temporary Cafeteria Aide for 2 hours per day. The votes were as follows:

Rennie Cates – yes

A motion was made by Rennie Cates and seconded by Chris Barbre to eliminate executive session minutes from February 2016. The votes were as follows:

A final motion was made by Rennie Cates and seconded by Chris Otey to adjourn at 6:25 p.m. The votes were as follows:
