Carmi Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 22.
What a great day for Shop with a Cop/ Cops and Kids. We were able to take 66 kids shopping this morning. What a great time. We want to thank all individuals and businesses for their donations without which we would not be able to do this for the children in our community.
Thank you so much. It is greatly appreciated. Because of your generous donations we are also able to deliver presents to more families on Christmas Eve as well. Special thank you to Officer Lucas who dedicates so much of his time to coordinate this special event each year.
Martin and Bayley (Hucks) additionally provided breakfast for ALL these kids and their families this morning! Truly a great blessing for so many families struggling this Christmas. God bless each of you and may you all have a Merry Christmas!
