Report: Fairfield spent $9,362 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Fairfield Public School District 112 is up 1.9 percent from five years ago, according to a SE Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Wayne County school district spent $9,185 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,362 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 713 to 673.

Fairfield's spending in 2017-18 was 29.8 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
