Galatia Community Unit School District 1 Board of Education met Sept. 24.

The budget hearing meeting of the Galatia Community Unit School District No. 1 Board was held in the boardroom at the Annex. Roll call was taken, and those present were Tim Pribble, Elaine Jackson, Bryan McCabe, B.J. Pigg, and Brandi Hankins. Joy Richey and Aaron Allen were absent. Five (5) members present and two (2) members were absent. Board President, Tim Pribble called the meeting to order at 6:48 p.m.
VISITORS: There were no visitors in attendance.
Aaron Allen entered the meeting at 6:52 p.m.
AGENDA: Mr. Crank discussed the FY2019/2020 budget. He stated that our district lost two million in mineral rights this year on our EAV (equalized assessed value). This is something we will have to watch in the future. He stated that the district is not required to file a deficit budget plan.
The budget will be voted on in the regular board meeting, on this date, September 24, 2019.
ADJOURNMENT:
1. A motion was made by Pribble and seconded by McCabe to adjourn at 6:55 p.m. Allen-aye, McCabe-aye, Pigg-aye, Hankins-aye, Pribble-aye, and Jackson-aye. Six (6) ayes, motion carried.
