City of McLeansboro City Council met Jan. 30.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Mayor Deitz called the special meeting of the McLeansboro City Council to order. Roll call: Jim Mason, Tom Maulding, Dale Biggerstaff, Richard Lasswell, Billy Glenn, Don Cox —present.

Attorneys Garavalia and Malkovich absent with regrets sent.

There were no members of the public present.

During Public Comments Clerk Vallowe requested the Council to consider switching City payroll over to direct deposit. He also announced dates for the up-coming Mental Health First-Aid training sessions that will be offered through the Hamilton County Health Department.

No executive session was taken.

Mr. Lasswell made the MOTION TO HIRE CHASE PARTAIN, PENDING HIS ACCEPTANCE TO THE ILLINOIS POLICE ACADEMY, AS A FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER, second Mr. Maulding. Roll call: Lasswell, Maulding, Mason, Cox, Glenn, Biggerstaff. Ayes – 6. Nay – 0. Motion passed.

Mr. Biggerstaff made the MOTION TO ADJOURN, second Mr. Lasswell. A voice vote was taken with no dissent.

The meeting adjourned at 4:31 P.M.
